Barcelona and world super star Lionel Messi extends stay at club and rejects City offer.
The star player signed a new deal for Barcelona last month, rejecting Manchester City's £850,000-a-week offer. He's now on a contract with Barca which will take him through 2021, a new £500,000-a-week contract with €700 million buyout clause.
The Argentine has been flying high since the beginning of campaign this season, he has 13 La Liga and 3 Champions league goals so far this season.
FC Barcelona remains top of the table with 5 points clear and Lionel Messi continue his race as the La Liga top goal scorer.
Manchester City splashed in enormous sums to lure the mega star to the Etihad, but Messi reportedly turned down the huge offer. He would have stand a chance to re-unite with former boss Pep Guadiola who he won trophies with in Barcelona.
Meanwhile, its was heard that Manchester City made bid to Lionel Messi's representatives without Barcelona's permission.
The premier league club side could have spoken to Messi in the new year if he did not signed the extension. Thus, City wanted to act fast if they were to lure the Barca and world mega star.
The 30-year-old is having a good time in club, flourishing so high. He will continue his focus in club and aim high for much better form and goals as well.
